We will be starting our 6th annual SI player rankings.

Don't be afraid to share your opinion, whether it's a popular one or not.  We will once again be going 10 spots deep at all 5 positions.

Please remember these two things, please vote on the polls and vote for the best player, don't be a homer.  Most of the polls will be open 24 hours, but if the first place vote getter gets 5 or more votes than the second vote getter than I will close the thread if I'm around.

Remember, this is based on who is currently the best player, not who has the potential to be the best.  Who would you take today?

Did BNC say in the last thread that Kyrie can't defend? Really?

This is tough for me, but I think I'm gonna take Wall over Dame. Not by much though.

Why would you guys take Wall? He isn't even a modern PG. He can't shoot the 3, he isn't that good at jump shots, all he can do is sorta pass, handle the ball, dunk, and shoot lay ups

what is "sorta pass"? high assist numbers dont mean anything. he has a respectable jumper, you cant leave him open. he can get to the basket, and he runs his team. hes good on defense. he doesnt have gaudy numbers but he can score with the best of them still, and hes athletic as fuck.

Were you watching the actual game during the playoffs or just too busy gawking over LeBron?

Yea I'm not gonna take a 4 game sample size over his entire career. But if you want to overreact to few games in which he was mediocre at best, be my guest. And if you're gonna go that route you need to at least remember he was atrocious defensively in the first 2 games, but I guess since he went to Duke those were just an outlier, right?

So apparently a guy with a career DRTG of 108, a career DBPM of -1.3, and 7.6 career defensive win shares over 5 season is a good defender, who knew?
