We will be starting our 5th annual SI player rankings.  Last year we only go to the SF position, but I'm quite determined to get the rankings completely finished this year.

Don't be afraid to share your opinion, whether it's a popular one or not.  We will once again be going 10 spots deep at all 5 positions.

Please remember these two things, please vote on the polls and vote for the best player, don't be a homer.  Most of the polls will be open 24 hours, but if the first place vote getter gets 5 or more votes than the second vote getter than I will close the thread if I'm around. Nola and I will be guys running the polls in order to try to get this done this time around.

Remember, this is based on who is currently the best player, not who has the potential to be the best.  Who would you take today?

2015 SI SG Rankings
1) James Harden
2) Jimmy Butler
3) Klay Thompson
4) Dwyane Wade
5) JJ Redick
6) Wes Matthews

Tyreke Evans with his bad jump shot had a higher percentage from three than Kobe, and in general shot 70 points higher from the field, and averaged more assists per game, and was only .4 off on rebounds.

Are we just gonna act like durability shouldn't factor?
He wasn't healthy cause he hasn't been healthy in 2+ years.

Oh I know I think the chucking thing was the greater part of my post though. That's a thing someone like Dan who only values stats wouldn't see, not all three-point field goal attempts are the same

but tyreke shouldn't get the vote, at all

There are far better options than him, aside for Kobe

Kobe has been chucking his entire career, he's just not good anymore.

If you have a poor shot selection that is a negative, not somehow a positive.

Old players simply do not recover well from Achilles injuries, and he has shown that.

That was the most threes he had shot per game since 2006 though.

Worse PER, worse 3P%, terrible rebounder for a guard while Kobe is still elite rebounding guard, worse assist%, etc

I fully understand if you don't want to vote Kobe but Monta is not a top ten guard anymore

Because he can't get to the rim at nearly the same ease as he use to aka age and an Achilles injury killing his game.

Your point is that he takes tougher threes so that should be taken into consideration, when it doesn't really matter. He takes tougher threes because he can't create separation, and teams know that.

It doesn't make him a worse shooter than Tyreke Evans, who teams dare to shoot

I didn't say Kobe was a worse shooter. I said Evans, who is a bad shooter, had a higher percentage, and a better assist rate.

Monta shot like 45% to Kobe's 37% lol.
Also for being pretty ball dominate Monta only turned it over 2.5 times a game.

He might not have shot it well from 3, but Monta scored the ball pretty efficiently last year.
