We will be starting our 4th annual SI player rankings.  Last year the player rankings generated 388 responses, that's less than 8 responses per thread.  I'm hoping this year we get above 500.  Don't be afraid to share your opinion, whether it's a popular one or not.  We will once again be going 10 spots deep at all 5 positions.

Please remember these two things, please vote on the polls and vote for the best player, don't be a homer.  Most of the polls will be open 24 hours, but if the first place vote getter gets 5 or more votes than the second vote getter than I will close the thread if I'm around.

Remember, this is based on who is currently the best player, not who has the potential to be the best.  Who would you take today?

Kyle Lowry has to come off the list now. Should have came off two votes ago. I know he's not a big name so he gets ignored, but he outplayed everyone off this list that's left. He was phenomenal. Great in the PnR, great coming off screens, elite spotting up, his biggest downfall is that he isn't a great iso player. He's very good everywhere else. Defensively he's a monster. It's a crime Rondo came off the list before he did.

How can you take off Derrick Rose when he almost won the last vote?

I truly think that is stupid.

We are voting on who is the best player. If you truly think Kyle Lowry is a better player than Rajon Rondo and Derrick Rose, then you are a terrible talent evaluator.

Rajon Rondo did not live up to that #5 ranking this year, and Rose was horrid when he was on the court.

Has nothing to do with being a talent evaluator, it's just not being a homer or a troll.

I wouldn't go with Lillard either. There is atleast 5 and maybe 6 guys still available that are better imo.

I'm surprised only two guys have received votes. There's a few guys that you could argue in this spot.

Neither Kyle Lowry nor Damian Lillard is better than DRose. So if this poll is a joke, might as well have a joke-vote, and vote for "the likeable guy"

Are we just magically imagining that Rose has regained his 2010 form since his last injury or are we living in the reality that last time the guy played he was awful and it's highly doubtful he's regained enough from his previous days to even be an above average point guard RIGHT NOW? If he's successful this season then we can have the discussion next off season, but the smart people know it's highly unlikely that if a game was played today that Derrick Rose would even sniff the majority of the guys on this list.

I've said the same thing last year. We shouldn't vote on what we've seen players do in their career, but only the last year. Since we're doing this every year, this gives us a much better summary of what went down that season. So I agree, Rose and Rondo should not crack the top ten.

I don't really see what we gain by saying Rondo was a top ten PG in 2013-2014.

It's voting him off of reputation, nothing more.

Yeah, because he didn't have the highest AST% in the league last year, and wasn't behind only CP3 in APG...
