We will be starting our 3rd annual SI player rankings. The first year we did this it sparked great debate, I'm hoping to get back to that this year. Unfortunately last year I did not finish the rankings for whatever reason, but this year we need to all make it a goal to finish them. We'll be going 10 deep this year.

Remember these two things, please vote on the polls and vote for the best player, don't be a homer. I will leave the polls open at my own discretion. Most will be open 24 hours, but if there is one where it's a clear runaway then there is no point in delaying the voting.

Remember, this is based on who is currently the best player, not who has the potential to be the best.

Can I ask how we voted Davis as 4th best?

He probably will after this season, maybe even higher, but based on his rookie year alone, I would have taken a lot of guys over him.

I think he closed it immediately after AD got his 2nd vote, which gave him the lead. lol

Dirk is still better than anyone ahead of him except LMA.

nah, he is. Kevin Love is an empty stat padder who will never win anything as a first option.  Anthony Davis is an overrated, injury prone, one dimensional player.  Blake Griffin is an overhyped, overrated player whose career will be over within five years.  KG is close, but I'd still take Dirk over him at this point in the career.  Being able to be a first option offensively is a big deal to me.

Dirk was still pretty damn good in 2011-2012 and if he hadn't been wrecked with every single injury in the goddamn book last year, the Mavs would have won 50 games or so.

My point stands, LMA is the only one of these players that I'd take over Dirk for the upcoming season.
