We will be starting our 3rd annual SI player rankings. The first year we did this it sparked great debate, I'm hoping to get back to that this year. Unfortunately last year I did not finish the rankings for whatever reason, but this year we need to all make it a goal to finish them. We'll be going 10 deep this year.

Remember these two things, please vote on the polls and vote for the best player, don't be a homer. I will leave the polls open at my own discretion. Most will be open 24 hours, but if there is one where it's a clear runaway then there is no point in delaying the voting.

Remember, this is based on who is currently the best player, not who has the potential to be the best.

I know I should vote for Johnson but I really don't want too. Weak crop of SG's in the league.

He would be there if he stayed healthy, I have high hopes for him this year.

Might be the only one who does, but I went with Klay Thompson.

If we would be going with your 1-10 scale for both O and D, how would you compare JJ and Iggy?

Well for starters I think 06 Johnson and 13 Johnson are very different players. His production in pretty much every area has dropped over the past 3 seasons from what they used to be, and he also just had his least efficient season since he was in his early 20's. With that said, he does still do some things well. His iso play is solid and he can still come off screens with the best of them. And well he's never really been a guy that gets applauded for his defense. So a 7 and 5 I guess?

And Iggy, I'm really not sure. Guys like him tend to fall off a cliff as soon as they hit 30 years old. But he does have better skills than most. We all know about his defense, aside from Tony Allen may be the best perimeter defender in the league, that is a 10. Offensively though, I don't think there is much there. His ability to pass the ball is nice, especially for someone with a limited offensive game. But he has no jump shot, no three point shot, and has to have a lot of his buckets assisted on. I guess I'd say between a 5 and 6?

I didn't realize how bad the crop of 2 guards is in the NBA. Wow
