I'll never understand some NBA players' inability to make free throws

Big news: Mike Brown might now lead the Warriors to a title against Brad Stevens

some like deandre or shaq makes a little sense, because their hands are too big comparatively and just aren't jump shooters at all, but someone like roberson or vintage bruce bowen should have been able to hit 70% at worst

They get paid to play basketball for a living. They have more than enough time and resources to practice and get better at it.

Free throws are a mental thing more than anything else. They all know how too sink a free throw

It's one of the few moments in basketball that is not in the actual flow of the game. Could lead one too think too much, cause anxiety, stress, etc

It's a mixture of practice/repetition, and mental stuff. But if you're practicing using the same shit ass form you always use, you're going to continue to suck.

I actually do believe when teams say "shitty free throw shooter X shoots 90% in practice"

I don't think hack a shaq ruins the game. It's a good strategy and if you don't want it to happen you take that player out the game or teach him to hit at a higher rate.

And it proves that there's something more to it than just practicing
