Scherff could probably play LT, but he won't have to.  The Redskins have an elite LT already.  
 
What they also had was the worst starting RT in the league the past two seasons.  A spot that desperately needed beefing up.  He can also slide in a guard where we've been abysmal.
 
Scherff is a great player, but one that I would have been far more comfortable taking a few picks later.

Absolute mauler in the run game.  He was a key piece in paving the way for Duke Johnson to become the leading rusher in Miami Hurricanes history.  His pass pro footwork is an absolute mess, though.  He has a lot of technical work to clean up to be a great LT.
