Ladarius Gunter is intriguing. I see he got a Senior Bowl invite, I could see him boosting his stock a ton.

Teams are gonna love his size. I feel like he could be the player that everyone made Stanley Jean-Baptiste to be before the draft last year; he's tall and is actually skilled, unlike SJB.

Started some QB scouting, this is where I'm at right now.

Mariota
Hundley

Kessler

Winston

Haven't watched Petty, Grayson or Prescott yet.

FWIW, I would take Derek Carr over every QB in this draft. Mariota seems Foles-level to me, in terms of star quality

Also, TJ Clemmings from Pitt is a perfect pick for the Patriots. Athletic OT that is a great run blocker, and while raw, projects to be a good LT.

With Solder going on his last year in NE next season, its perfect

In hindsight, yes. There were a lot of questions about Carr though coming out though, most of which he has now answered.

I could see Kessler or Hundley becoming the best from this class, but Mariota will be good, IMO. His floor is Tannehill, which I would definitely live with.

There isn't a top flight QB in this class, but I think you can win consistently with 4-5 of them.

I would not take Winston before the 2nd, either, and you'd better have a good running game. NFL zones are going to kill him.

Not for me. Before the draft, I said the two things Carr needed to work on was accuracy and footwork, but he was basically ready to go, and that he was the #1 QB. He completed 58.6% of his passes, which isn't fantastic, and his footwork is as good as it is for any standard rookie QB.

I loved Carr pre-draft, and I am so happy he did well in his rookie year with Oakland. I really hope they surround him with offensive talent this offseason, like Cooper

I'd say Mariota's ceiling/floor is between a better, more aggressive Chiefs' Alex Smith and Alex Smith when he played for Singletary

The biggest issue with Carr by far was his pocket presence and eye level which are much better now.

Well Kessler is going back. Now the only true starters may be Mariota and Hundley.

Interested to see what you think about Grayson.  I haven't found any of his film yet.

He's a nice college QB. He's a servicable NFL starter, IMO. Fringe playoff QB.

I'm looking forward to checking out Grayson soon too Jake.

Probably lol. He just doesn't translate great. He's super talented, but the NFL will pick him apart, eventually, if not right off the bat.

He's really not even a great college qb if we're looking at just this season. His heisman year was pretty amazing, but he's regressed significantly as a passer this year.

Carden has a goofy delivery and played in an offense that minimized potential mistakes, but anyone that plays that efficiently has some talent. He might be a decent late round developmental guy.
