Captain Kirk heading back to the CHI

The Bulls have reached a verbal agreement on a deal with free agent guard Kirk Hinrich, reports K.C. Johnson of the Chicago Tribune (via Twitter). While details are still being finalized, Hinrich is expected a receive a two-year, $6MM contract from the Bulls. Hinrich returns to the franchise that drafted him in 2003 after spending parts of the last two seasons with the Wizards and Hawks.

By adding Hinrich to their backcourt, the Bulls have given themselves more stability at the guard position with Derrick Rose on the shelf for at least a portion of the upcoming season. The former Kansas star averaged 6.6 PPG and 2.8 APG in 48 games during the 2011/12 season.

He can't handle starters minutes anymore

Doesn't mean he shouldn't be a starter though.

Well, he isn't really useful anymore outside of rebounding, so I would argue he is a back up.

Good rebounder, defender, and can still block a shot.

He's older and slower, not even close to the defender he use to be. The Heat would be better off just playing small with Bosh at C and LeBron at PF. (Because I know you're implying he should decline the Knicks and go there)

I'm implying he should play anywhere where he isn't a backup. He can still play, and has a good amount left in the tank.

Aside for maybe Miami, he would be the backup everywhere

Plenty of teams that could start him.
Atlanta, Miami, Mavericks, Spurs come to mind..

Apparently Rashard Lewis is fairly close to coming to the Heat. He meets with them today.

I don't get the Shard move, his 3PT% has dropped four seasons in a row and he was awful last year

Can't play any D either

Allen being able to sign with the Heat shows everything that is wrong with the NBA cap. Now Lewis too? That just drives the nail in even further.

Lewis being able to sign with the Heat is good for every other contender in the NBA, especially if he gets regular playing time.
