At least the selection committee did everything they could to try to keep Wichita from the Final 4. After their first game, they could potentially have to play Kentucky, Louisville, and Michigan/Duke to make it. They got their chance to prove they are deserving of that ranking. This whole division isn't great this year. The Twins and White Sox are still in their long term rebuilding attempt, the Indians aren't that great and benefited from an extremely easy schedule on their run to the Wild Card last year. The Royals are okay, and the Tigers aren't what they once were...
