Indians have apparently declined Sizemore's 9 million dollar option (Not shocking)

Rockies and Giambi are close to an agreement on his 2012 option.

Am I the only one who didn't know Giambi was still in the MLB? lol.

Also, Tigers picked up Valverde's 2012 option, I believe it is at 9 million.

Not sure why Giambi doesn't just go to an AL team to play DH.. 13 homers, .355 OBP in 131 at bats, not bad at all.

The Rockies declined their 2012 option on righty Aaron Cook, tweets Jim Armstrong of the Denver Post. The Rockies will pay Cook a $500K buyout as opposed to the $11MM option. GM Dan O'Dowd says the door is open for Cook to return on a new contract.

Trading nothing and paying 1/3 of his contract to be our 4th/5th starter. It's not significant enough to be a 'bad deal'.

And anyway, he eats up innings, and last year the numbers show he was a bit unlucky with a 3.70 FIP and 3.65 xFIP compared to his 5.00 ERA.

i know, how the hell is it a bad deal? indians will pay 5M for a year of Lowe. not that bad

and if he cant cut it as a starter, i truly think he'd be a good arm in the pen
seeing guys once a game compared to 3 or 4 times would turn him into another pitcher. and he has bullpen experience already

There aren't many openings in our pen for late inning stuff, if any.

But I think the move is alright. With Carrasco out for all of next year, we needed another starter.

Ubaldo
Masterson
Carmona
Lowe
Tomlin

I think that's a solid rotation. Now we just need to get upgrades at CF and 1B, and I think we'd be ready to compete again in the Central.

as a dodger fan, i have literally 2 things to be excited about: kershaw and kemp

so with the gold gove finalists announced, it's cool seeing all these dodgers

Kershaw and Kuroda for pitching
kemp in CF, Ethier in RF(lol) and Loney at 1st(he deserves it the most of any dodger imo)

A guy who has lost his elite speed and power, going to a ballpark that holds homers back, and needs a CF with a lot of range and speed? Terrible fit
