call me when we have a salary cap
Honestly, you know damn well that even with a cap, the Royals wouldn't change their ways.. They'd be penalized for going UNDER the cap >_>

Salary cap can't work in MLB, because the teams that want to spend always will (see the Mavericks/Knicks/Lakers tens of millions over the cap anyway) and the poor teams don't make an honest effort to do ANYTHING... It may not be even, per say, but the poor teams don't do anything with the money we give them via luxury tax, so honestly it's the Royals fault for putting themselves in this <Censored>hole.

I'm not going to get into a salary cap debate now, lol

But yeah, I'm <Censored>ing pumped for the paradeee

And I still hate DH... He might be more hated than me? lol

Teams can go over the cap in the NBA, but they can only do it by re-signing players on their own team and using the MLE or minimum contracts. It's a lot different then already being the leagues top payroll, then give out more ridiculous contracts to regular FAs.

And yes to your last statement.

You mean to tell me every team over the cap must cut all of their players, or a good amount of them? And what happens to their salaries? Then we must cap salaries... MLBPA won't EVER let it happen, not after the recent spoiling of players.

No.. I'm saying it should be similar to the NBA salary cap. There are restrictions that don't allow you to offer a max contract when you're over the cap or a large contract, unless its to one of your current players who has a contracts up. I know it wont happen... Only way it would happen would be if the owners locked their players out, which wont happen.

The Yankees are 60 million over the 2nd highest payroll.. It's really not fair.. But congrats on the title I guess.

And if you were saying they would have to cut their players to get under after they implemented the system, then I guess they would have to do something. The league is set up right now to where you basically know who will come out of each division...

Baseball honestly has just as much, if not more parody than any other league

Since 93-94, NBA:

Spurs - 4
Lakers - 4
Bulls - 3
Rockets - 2
Pistons - 1 (12585 straight ECF, too)
Celtics - 1

Hockey isn't as bad, but the Red Wings have won 4 cups, Avalanche 2, and Devils 2. Those 3 teams make up for 8/15 (over 50%) of the last 15 seasons.

NFL:

Patriots - 3
Cowboys - 3
Steelers - 2
Broncos - 2

(10/16)

If you look at the superbowls over those 16 years, besides the Bills, Rams, Raiders and Bucs, every other participating team is either very good this year, or was good last year... Meaning? The same teams are always good in the NFL.

MLB:

Yankees 5
Marlins 2
Sawx 2

Only repeat champions.. Other winners were the White Sox, Dbacks, Angels, Braves, Cardinals, and Phillies. The Marlins, W Sox, Dbacks and Braves didn't even make the playoffs this year.

I couldn't go to the Giants parade, and probably won't get to the Yankee parade either. But being in NY, especially surrouned by millions of people is not something I would want to do.
