Yankees signed INF Bill Hall to a minor league contract.
It was reported first by Hall himself (on his personal Twitter account), then confirmed by Erik Boland of New York Newsday. According to Ken Rosenthal of FOXSports.com, he'll earn $600,000 if he makes the team plus the chance for an additional $600,000 in performance-based incentives. The 32-year-old will function as a utilityman in 2012 for the Yankees after batting .211/.261/.314 in 199 plate appearances between the Astros and Giants last year. He's doubtful to hold value in mixed leagues.
Depth move. Not a bad guy to have on your bench.
