Granderson a Yankee? No way. This will make me hate the Yankees even more because I love Granderson.

This could take the Yankees out of the bidding for Roy Halladay....or put them more in if they are going to keep Granderson and trade Austin Jackson with some young pitching (maybe even Jackson).

I hope we don't trade Austin Jackson - he will be our leadoff hitter for years to come.

The New York Yankees, Arizona Diamondbacks and Detroit Tigers are on the verge of the first major trade of baseball's winter meetings, a deal that would send Tigers outfielder Curtis Granderson to New York, sources told ESPN The Magazine's Buster Olney.

In the trade, the Diamondbacks would obtain Edwin Jackson and Ian Kennedy, while the Tigers will pick up Max Scherzer, Phil Coke and outfield prospect Austin Jackson.

The deal would give the Yankees a starting center fielder. Starting outfielder Johnny Damon and designated hitter Hideki Matsui are both free agents.

In return, the Tigers would get a hard thrower in Scherzer and a well-regarded prospect in Austin Jackson, while the Diamondbacks get a pair of starting pitchers in Edwin Jackson and Kennedy.

Tigers win on this one, IMO.

Granderson K's too much for a speedster -- Jackson is considered NYY best prospect & Scherzer will be very good

Granderson is being overvalued. I'm glad the Cubs are falling out of the race for him.

Tigers are getting Max Scherzer, Daniel Schlereth, Phil Coke, and Austin Jackson.

Good deal in my opinion. We are cleaning house and we got a few real solid prospects.
Granderson and Jackson's seasons last year were kind of overrated in my books, I'm real sad to see Jackson and Granderson go, but I guess it's for the better.

Scherzer is overrated imo. he's got a good fastball, thats pretty much it. and never gets deep in games. he does have one blue eye and one brown eye though. thats kinda cool
has more potential than Edwin Jackson and is a little younger.
ugh, i expect Edwin to murder the Dodgers now that he can. should have never dealt him

Schlereth is the son of Mark Schlereth on ESPN lol

Phil Coke blows

but Austin Jackson seems legit. im sure most yankee fans are pissed he's gone.
hopefully for the Tigers sake, he hasnt been overhyped and is a great player for them

If the Tigers are cleaning house then they should trade Miguel Cabrera cuz he makes a ton of money, lol. I like this deal for the Diamondbacks actually. They get a great #2 starter who played very well in the AL. Prospects are no sure thing so right now I think the Diamondbacks got a lot better cuz now they have Haren, Webb, and Jackson at the top of their rotation and they are all fairly young. As for the Yankees they got Granderson so I expect them to stay out of the Holliday bidding since I trully believe they are going to resign Damon if he is cheaper. Granderson will do great in that place they call a ballpark.
