What do you guys think of that? I love the guy as much as the next Mets fan but I think that might be a bit high, although I wouldn't risk losing him at that price either.Joel Sherman of the New York Post spoke with multiple MLB executives about David Wright and the Mets and he says that the consensus from them is that Wright is going to get a seven year deal for about $127 million. Add the $16 million option the Mets have on him for 2013 and it works out to $143 million over eight years.
One of the reasons for this number is that, according to Sherman, it’s important to Wright to top Johan Santana’s $137.5 million and Ryan Zimmerman’s $100 million extension with the Nationals.
