What ever happened to...

I remember in early in the sites history where we would set goals for the site in a month.

ex we would set a goal for a certain number of posts, topics, new members, etc...

What ever happened to that, and why not bring that back?
It gives a healthy sense of competition and drive that I think, the site needs at the moment.
