The Yankees haven't shown any interest in trading Nick Swisher, but there are teams that would love to deal for the right fielder.

New York exercised the option on Swisher's contract for the 2012 season earlier this offseason.

If they can get a middle of the rotation Pitcher, yes they should. Lineup is still very powerful so they can afford to sacrifice Swish if it means improving the pitching.

I think it'd be foolish to trade him because he doesn't perform in the playoffs, he's been consistently great for us throughout this contract and he's a great presence in the lockeroom.

Swisher Not Worried About Playoff Woes, Uncertain Future
While the Yankees picked up his option for the 2012 season, there is no guarantee that right fielder Nick Swisher will remain with the team.

There have been rumors that other clubs are interested in his services and New York badly needs pitching.

"I don't ever look that far ahead," Swisher said. "I know what I bring to the table. We just have to see what happens."

Swisher has been criticized for his playoff struggles. He has a career postseason average of .169.

"I don't worry about that stuff," he said. "It was like 15 at-bats. I don't ever think about that."

He has repeatedly said that he would love to remain in pinstripes.

"I think everybody in the Yankees organization and here in New York knows how excited I am and how Iucky I feel to be here," Swisher said. "We'll just see what happens after this year. That's the fun part: You never know what's going to happen."

He has value, but there are a few downward measureables last season that might be a cause for concern. I would not sign him long term or give up a #3 SP, a 2 year deal is probably ideal.
