Giants Still Considering CL Brian Wilson
Mercury News

SAN FRANCISCO -- The Giants still haven't ruled out a reunion with Brian Wilson, but they won't change their stance that Wilson needs to make concessions. General manager Brian Sabean said Friday that the club still believes Wilson needs to sign an incentive-laden deal, while the closer continues to search for a deal with more guaranteed money.

"It's their stance versus our stance," Sabean said. "We continue to monitor it."

Wilson was non-tendered in November, becoming a free agent. He is recovering from his second Tommy John surgery, which took place last April.
So I'm curious what you guys think they should do. Should they bring him back, and if so for how much? It's tough coming off 2 Tommy John surgery's and still guaranteeing money to the player. I think the fact nobody else has shown much interest yet is good for the Giants at this point.

I'm just surprised no team has taken a gamble on him. I doubt he would command that much money coming off the injuries. Low risk, high reward.

I agree. I think if he's not signed by April, Mets might take a look at him. Even if he's not a closer he could pack our bullpen a little.

I'd give him a shot at closer before we let Rondon do it.

If they do bring him back it's for cheap, making it a low-risk/high-reward signing. There's always the deadline to look for a trade partner but there's also no such thing as "too many" great bullpen arms.
