Rios15's GFX Questions
I usually like step by step kind of help, but please try and help me with the questions I ask below.

How do you make something transparent?
Say I wanted to just make something with text like the Toronto text in my sig. How do I make it without a background like the one in my signature

How do you add borders/ a border to a sig?

What are some good ways to darken up a certain part of a graphic?

What are some good ways to lighten up a render in a graphic?

Hide the background, and save the image as a .png with NO BACKGROUND.

Edit>Stroke>Select Colour/Size.
What are some good ways to darken up a certain part of a graphic?
The burn tool, or dark brushing on multiply, and tweak with the fill/opacity
To find the burn tool, click "O" on your keyboard

Either the dodge tool (hit "R" on your keyboard), or white brushing on overlay.

HOPE I COULD HELP.
Sam.

Alright, I really like how a lot of people use bars to place their text on in their sigs. Where are these from?

Example:

When making a selection with the rectangular marquee tool, how do you get rid of the selection box after?

Some Photoshops don't have it.
