Metsblog.com:
Jon Niese is going back to New York to have an MRI on his sore left shoulder, with what Niese described as a ‘dead arm,’ Terry Collins told reporters Wednesday in St. Lucie.
“Last year when there was pain, it was difficult to do everyday things such as turn a steering wheel or put on a belt,” Niese said (DiComo, Feb. 26). “There’s no pain with any of that now, so I don’t foresee it being serious at all.”
It’s precautionary, according to Collins, who says Niese has been feeling pain in his triceps since early in camp (Carig, Feb. 26).
It is in different area than the rotator cuff he partially tore last summer (DiComo, Feb. 26).
Niese was projected to be the team’s Opening Day starter, Collins said.
