We've all missed Giancarlo Stanton and his majestic dingers these past couple of months. Whether you simply appreciate how far he can hit a baseball or you've found your fantasy season slowed by yet another Stanton injury or you are somehow both the general manager and the manager of the Marlins at the same time, the superstar's absence has been felt. That won't be the case for much longer, as Stanton believes he'll be ready to return to the lineup in roughly 10 days.

That would line him up for next Friday, especially since Stanton stated he doesn't want to play in any rehab assignment games. Given the end of the minor league season is happening right around then, and it not mattering if the out-of-it Marlins have to deal with a couple of games of Stanton getting his timing back, that's a fair request from a veteran.

Stanton was having what arguably could have been his best season in the majors before he swung himself right onto the disabled list in late-June. The 25-year-old had 27 homers through just 74 games: his career-high is 37, which he's reached twice, and last summer led the National League. We were robbed of a full season of Stanton bombs, something he's only managed one time (two if you're feeling generous about his getting hit in the face late last year), but someday, we'll get that 40 or maybe even 50 homer season out of him. Stanton still has time to get to at least 30 in 2015, even if he ends up in fewer than 100 games total, so Maybe 50 Someday isn't a ridiculous notion.
