Dirks Out 3 Months

LAKELAND, Fla. -- The Tigers acquired Rajai Davis with the intention of having him split time with Andy Dirks in left field. Now, Davis could be asked to play there every day.
Dirks will have surgery Monday on his lower back and is expected to miss 12 weeks, the Tigers announced Tuesday.
Dirks first complained of back soreness two days ago and was checked by a specialist Monday. It was then recommended Tuesday he undergo microdiscectomy surgery, which will be performed by Dr. Thomas Tolli, general manager Dave Dombrowski said.
"He's had this for a lengthy period -- he's had some pain back there," Dombrowski said. "But not to the extent that it affected him last year, playing-wise."
 

That sucks. I really hope we don't just go forward with Davis as our everyday LF. 
This is exactly why I wanted us to go after Cruz.

But they plan to fill it internally, which means more playing time for Don Kelly. Fucking great.
