Yankees general manager Brian Cashman doesn't agree with Cliff Lee's opinion on his team.

Lee told Philadelphia radio station WIP last week that he chose to sign with Philadelphia instead of New York because "some of the Yankee guys are getting older."

Cashman replied in The New York Post.

"Some of our core guys that we have relied on have gotten up there, but we have a group of young players that we're excited about," Cashman said.

"All we care about is being called champions. You can say anything else you want about us. When you call us old, that's fine."

We're getting older? Look at the Phillies, one young player with potential and a bunch of expensive 30+ year olds.

I agree, the Phillies are getting up there in age as well. I think Lee sees that he can get a little more out of the Phillies than the Yankees though. But who knows, the Yankees have way more resources to bring in youth.
