Cardinals pitcher Chris Carpenter confirmed that he would agree to waive his no-trade clause if the club sought to deal him this season.

However, he admitted that a deal is unlikely and not his preference.

Carpenter told Fox Sports last weekend of his willingness to waive his no-trade leverage.

"It just came up and I gave my answer. Later on I went home and thought about how that didn't sound good," Carpenter said.

Sounds like he did one of those "think before you speak" ordeals. Whether that's true or not, you know a team doesn't like to hear such a thing like that. I like Carpenter. The Carpenter/Wainwright duo and even thought Wainwright is out for season, Carpenter should still succeed as one of the best pitchers in the league.

Its time to blow up that Cardinals team, Pujols contract went to crap and is just a big distraction, Wainwright is out for the year, and Carpenter says he would be ok with being traded. Next thing you know, Holliday has an awful 2nd year with the Cardinals. I think its time to start new with this team, but thats just me.
