Manny Ramirez is struggling to regain his form at Triple-A Sacramento, but the Athletics aren't ready to end their relationship with the slugger.

Oakland hoped that Ramirez would be ready to help the big league club when his 50-game suspension ended May 30.

However, Ramirez has hit just .243 over 11 games at the Triple-A level and hasn't even played a full game in the past week because of a left leg injury.

"Until he's on the field on a regular basis and we see where he's at from a baseball standpoint, we're really not in a position where we're ready to make a decision," Billy Beane said. "We said from Day 1 that nothing is set in stone."

It's a 1 year $500,000 deal, no harm in letting him attempt to find his way.

They havent been a successful organization in about 10 years, the moneyball concept has caught up with the rest of the league and the Athletics havent been able to keep up with those other teams.
