I wouldn't say MSU played a weak nonconference schedule, it wasn't as strong as it usually is due to Georgetown being weaker than expected but it still ranked in the top 1/3 of division 1

I remember a few years ago Cuse almost lost to a 16 that was the closest one I can remember.  I know MSU went to OT with a 16th seeded Murray State in the 90's but I wasn't alive for that so can't tell you much about that game.     I don't see Wichita State losing to a 16 this year tho I think...
