The Astros have placed left-hander Wandy Rodriguez on waivers.

However, the Yankees, who reportedly entertained the idea of trading for him prior to the July 31 non-waiver deadline, are not interested, according to a source.

We could definitely use a lefty in our rotation, but I know it's quite unlikely :/

The Yankees could really use a guy like Wandy. He wouldn't be too terribly expensive in a trade, and Houston would probably eat up a lot of his deal. why not make a move that could help you? Doesn't make sense to me. Detroit would be smart to grab him up.

The Yankees don't need another expensive starter. CC, Nova, Bartolo, Hughes/Garcia/Burnett. That's fine for the post-season.
