Utah joins newly expanded Pac-12*

SALT LAKE CITY -- The University of Utah has accepted an invitation to become the 12th member of the newly expanded Pac-10 conference.

University president Michael Young said in a release that the Utes are pleased to accept the invitation and join Colorado as the Pac-10's newest members. With the additions, the conference will have 12 members.

Young says it will be a tremendous jump for Utah both academically and athletically.

Utah has been a member of the Mountain West Conference since it formed in 1999.

Utah will be actually a lot of fun to see in the Pac-10, they deserved to be a big time conference after how they have performed recently. I mean, hell, they are only like two seasons removed from demolishing Bama.

Sucks for Boise. Lol. They finally go to a decent conference and one of the better teams leaves.
