Sunday Debates

Alright, as you guys know we have a Saturday Night Discussion every Saturday. And then that prepares us for a usually slow day on Sunday. My solution?

A board wide debate every Sunday, starting in the morning and ending at the night..

The topics would be things that could be heated, could be sports, politics, anything that pops into my head.

Won't pick a winner, but a debate should really add some activity to the Sundays.

Any ideas guys?

Helmets in the NHL.
Instant-Replay in the MLB.
Protectivness on the QB in the NFL.

Those are some good ideas for sports.

I was thinking for non sports we could do like.

Pro-Life vs. Pro-Choice
Legalizing Marijuana

Stuff like that.

Fair enough. Good idea.
Perhaps I could hold a thread on Saturday Night for some ideas?

Oh dam rip, another great idea.
I love it man, great thinking. And ya liek Maple said, lets keep it peaceful, haha. The Michael Vick stuff could get nasty. I think even like "should the NFL season be extended" is a type of debate that could stay peaceful... hopefully, haha.

Well the only reason I'd do heated is because it always draws in attention. The peaceful debates can get boring ya know?

If the first few are boring, we will crank it up.

i;m not gonna lie, i like heated debates, like abortion, marijuana, etc.

BTW I make a motion for this upcoming sundays topic to be on legalization of Marijuana.

Rip I'll tell you now, anything that has anything to do with Pro Life/Pro Choice or anything close to "God" and what not will not work. I mean we are all mostly mature but them topics could get out of hand.

Keep the debates sports-oriented for now, please.. this is a sports forum first and foremost.

also, try to keep the topics fresh and recent, as that's what is weighing on most people's minds at the time


for instance -- Jay Cutler - who was in the right? the team or Cutler?

The Vick thing could work, too since he was just sent back to jail

I completely agree here with Maple. Anything not involved with these topics and I will be active in it.
