As we head into the eve of Free Agency we take a look back at what has been a very busy offseason. Since the end of the season we have seen a total of 36 trades involving all but 6 teams in the league. It has seen the likes of All Stars Blake Griffin, Russell Westbrook, Chris Paul, Jeremy Lin, LeBron James, Bradley Beal and Mike Conley all moving to new teams. We take a closer look at five trades but first, here is a tracker of how many trades each team has made so far this offseason. The Boston Celtics top the charts with a total of 9 trades, followed by the Minnesota Timberwolves with 7. Heat/Knicks/Bulls/Pistons/Pacers/Thunder are the six teams yet to make a move this offseason.

Trade #1.

Washington Wizards Trade
Mike Conley

Houston Rockets Trade
Lance Stephenson
Hawks 19 first
Rockets 19 first
25 cash

First trade is between the Houston Rockets and Washington Wizards which saw All Star Point guard Mike Conley heading to Houston in return for Lance Stephenson, 2 first round picks and cash considerations. Firstly really like this trade from Houstons perspective, teaming Mike Conley and DeMar DeRozan in their backcourt gives them one of the best backcourts in the league. Conley's numbers were a little down last season but expect them to rise in Houston's offense playing alongside DeMar. While for Washington they add Lance Stephenson to Victor Oladipo, although Stephenson is an effective enough scorer I'm not sold on his all round game and his contract is on the high side. Washington used those two picks to move up in the draft to select Bruno Fernando with the 17th pick which I really liked, think he will be a solid bigman in this league.

Trade #2

Boston Celtics Trade
Damian Lillard
Jakob Poeltl
Thomas Bryant
Taj Gibson
23 overall (Mfiondu Kabengele)
24 overall (Keldon Johnson)
2020 Hawks

Magic Trade
Donovan Mitchell
Sean Williams
5 overall (R.J. Barrett)

The Boston Celtics have been busy with their rebuilding project, this trade see's them moving Damian Lillard to the Orlando Magic in return for Donovan Mitchell and the 5th overall pick which turned out to be R.J. Barrett who surprisingly dropped to the 5th pick. The Celtics pick up two top young assets here in their rebuild in former number #1 overall pick Donovan Mitchell and Duke Small Forward R.J. Barrett. Although Mitchell hasn't quite lived up-to his hype coming into the draft just yet, at 23 years old he could be due a breakout year in Boston as a centerpiece of their rebuild (behind Giannis obviously) while Barrett failing to #5 makes this move even sweeter for Boston. Saying that I don't mind this trade for Orlando at all, Damian Lillard is a top point guard and Thomas Bryant, Mfiondu Kabengele and Keldon Johnson are all solid young pieces. It will be interesting to see if they turn any of their youth and picks into win now talent to pair with Lillard/Batum.

Trade #3

Charlotte Hornets Trade
De'Aaron Fox
9 (Darius Garland)
2020 CHA
$25

Boston Celtics Trade
Russel Westbrook

Another Boston Celtics trade, this time with Russell Westbrook moving to the Charlotte Hornets in exchange for De'Aaron Fox, 9th overall pick Darius Garland and a future 1st round pick. Russell Westbrook is an elite talent but this is a risky move by the Hornets, having just given up a lotto pick in a tough Eastern Conference they risk doing the same. Westbrook is on an expiring contract at 31 years old having already jumped ship in Free Agency once. A trio of Ayton/Westbrook/Ross is solid but will need a jump from fourth year wing Brandon Ingram to make an impact. Celtics add two young point guards loaded with potential in Fox and Garland while also adding another potential lotto pick and cash.

Trade #4

Atlanta Hawks Trade
LeBron James
Marco Belinelli
Maurice Harkless
K.J. McDaniels
$3

Utah Jazz Trade
Kemba Walker
Jimmy Butler
Clint Capela
Jordan Clarkson
Romeo Langford
2021 First (top 5 protected)

Having just signed a 5 year 163,890,168 contract with the Atlanta Hawks, LeBron James is traded out West to the Utah Jazz along with Marco Belinelli, Maurice Harkless, K.J. McDaniels in exchange for Kemba Walker, Jimmy Butler, Clint Capela, Jordan Clarkson, Romeo Langford and a protected first round pick. An interesting move which see's the Hawks move LeBron to bring in more depth in Clint Capela and Jimmy Butler while pairing Kemba Walker with Stephen Curry in their backcourt, alongside picking up rookie guard Langford. The Jazz are going all in for the season after their playoff birth last season adding star power in LeBron James aswell to Chris Paul, who they added from the Mavericks, as they go forward built around Millsap/LeBron/Paul.

Trade #5

Brooklyn Nets Trade
De'Andre Hunter
Rockets 2020 1st round
Wizards 2021 1st round

Cleveland Cavaliers Trade
Bradley Beal

The Nets add a great shooter in Bradley Beal to their young core of Zion Williamson, Jaren Jackson Jr and Lonzo Ball. While the Cleveland Cavs are who, are currently being run by league management, add the third overall pick De'Andre Hunter who I think will have a great pro career alongside two first round picks. I love this deal for the Brooklyn Nets, I don't hate it for the Cavaliers because I'm high on Hunter but feel the Nets come out on top in this one.
