Raiders re-sign Aldon Smith

Aldon Smith is sticking with the Oakland Raiders and is expected to finalize a deal with the team soon, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.

Smith will turn 27 in September and can't even apply for reinstatement until November, so the pass rusher won't be making an impact any time soon, and likely didn't get big money from the Raiders. He has had a pattern of destructive behavior off the field and the risk with any amount of money given to Smith is that it might not give any returns.

Raiders were on the edge of the Playoffs last year... with the Broncos unique situation they could make it this year, and if Smith is staying in Football shape, he could be ready to go by January, which would really be an unknown come playoff time.
