A lot of trades happened.

Probably, none of it were the ones we were hoping for.

But who do you think had the best trade deadline?

I'd pick the Suns. 'Cause getting rid of Markieff was very nice.

Magic dumped pretty much all wasted salary on the team without making the team worse, in fact maybe even slightly better.

Harris-Drummond Frontcourt

Two bigs who can't defend.

I don't even know any trades that happened outside of Frye, and Hinrich, so that means nobody that's going to change the playoff picture was

Harris didn't start for them tonight..

And also Harris isn't a PF unless you go small

Who would they start? Harris is more PF than Morris.

And Harris plays better at PF.

Yeah Harris is more PF than Morris but most likely for the next 4 years - they're both under contract for 4 years, Harris could be a good deal under the new CBA and Morris is an amazing one - one plays starting SF and one plays bench combo forward. Harris came off the bench last night but still scored 21 points on 9-12 shooting and looked great offensively. Stanley Johnson (SG-SF) and one of Morris/Harris is a great duo off the bench.

Of course the exception to that is if they spend the offseason working with one of the two specifically on adding skills/strength needed to be the full-time PF, but imo the best odds for starting PF next year and beyond (in a field of long odds right now, with another very real option being somebody not yet on the roster) are with Donatas Motiejunas. I highly doubt they lose him in RFA, and I don't think they got him just to be the backup center since Aron Baynes is already playing well in that spot. (fyi they started Anthony Tolliver at PF last night and he played 18 minutes, he's basically Ersan-lite)

You said there's no way the Pistons won the Harris trade but if you look at it from trade value alone they won by a mile, especially since every other team will have cap space this summer so hoping to lure a big FA to Detroit was probably a pipe dream and that's all they really gave up. Harris isn't a good defender (though he's been a better one this year) but Ersan Ilyasova was in the same class of defensive ability so it's a lateral move there.

Also worth mentioning how young this whole Pistons core is:
Aron Baynes - 29
Marcus Morris - 26
Reggie Jackson - 25
Donatas Motiejunas - 25
Tobias Harris - 23
Kentavious Caldwell-Pope - turned 23 two days ago
Spencer Dinwiddie - 22
Andre Drummond - 22
Stanley Johnson - 19

I believe Tobias Harris was the best guy traded.

Don't think the Pistons can make the playoffs though.

However, Courtney Lee can change the playoff picture.
