The New York Mets have reached an agreement with outfielder Yoenis Cespedes on a three-year, $75-million deal, reports Ken Rosenthal of FOX Sports.

Rosenthal says the deal also contains an opt-out after one year and a no-trade clause.

The deal is pending a physical.

Cespedes was in high demand after hitting .291/.328/.542 with 35 home runs and 105 RBIs while earning a 6.6 WAR split between the Mets and Detroit Tigers last season.

taking a 3 year deal as a 30 year old who relies on athleticism to get by is a little odd. then again 25 mil a year isn't easy to turn down.

Didn't think Yoenis was worth 25 a year.

Overall, I think this is a good deal for the Mets. 3 years isnt a very long commitment and he is a much needed bat in the middle of the lineup. The team was completely different and that lineup had depth that I hadnt seen since 2006.

If he has an amazing year this upcoming year, he can opt out and try to get a 6 year deal he has been looking for.
