Jair Jurrjens (knee) felt "really good" after throwing a 50-pitch bullpen session Wednesday.
Jurrjens has been cleared to pitch Friday in an instructional league game, but the Braves acknowledged Wednesday afernoon that the right-hander won't be able to return to action until the second round of the playoffs -- if the Braves manage to get that far. He's been sidelined since late August because of a strained right knee.

Still a big blow. Jurrjens is one of their three best starters and I'm not sure they even make the NLCS without him.

If they do make it to the NLCS, then you have to take into account that he'll have to get into the groove of pitching again in the MLB and it's a lot harder to get accustomed to it in the playoffs.

Man how things have changed for the Braves. They haven't looked good and not having one of their best pitchers is a big loss. That puts more pressure on that bullpen to come through.
