I had no idea Carolina was that serious. I knew they liked him but damn. I highly doubt it happens though.

SI.com's Peter King isn't buying talk that Arkansas QB Ryan Mallett is legitimately on Carolina's list of potential No. 1 picks.
King calls the idea "preposterous," in fact. "[Owner] Jerry Richardson will see his off-field reports and kibosh it," says King. It's hard to find fault with King's logic. We never considered Mallett a realistic candidate for the Panthers.
King is probably the most Tapped in source to real NFL teams there is.

Stopped reading after he named Auburn's defense with those other SEC teams

They would probably like Mallet in the 2nd round at #1 if they don't take a QB #1 overall, but that's it.

The Panthers traded this years 2nd round pick for the right to take Armanti Edwards last year.

No NFL team, character aside, would take Mallett first overall, being as inconsistent as he is. It's just to much a risk.

I used to like RM, but due to all the ball sucking from Brutalis, I just can't stand the guy now. He made me hate him.
