We will be starting our 5th annual SI player rankings.  Last year we only go to the SF position, but I'm quite determined to get the rankings completely finished this year.

Don't be afraid to share your opinion, whether it's a popular one or not.  We will once again be going 10 spots deep at all 5 positions.

Please remember these two things, please vote on the polls and vote for the best player, don't be a homer.  Most of the polls will be open 24 hours, but if the first place vote getter gets 5 or more votes than the second vote getter than I will close the thread if I'm around. Nola and I will be guys running the polls in order to try to get this done this time around.

Remember, this is based on who is currently the best player, not who has the potential to be the best.  Who would you take today?

What exactly differentiated Gasol from Duncan in terms of being a PF rather than a C?

Toughness, strength, defensive abilities, etc.

I don't think he would hold up at C, though I do think he plays a good bit of center but I'm not sure

Wasn't he pretty exclusively the center in LA prior to Bynum "breaking out."

I think he really didn't come in until Bynum became a player

Duncan being a center is so obvious it hurts.
Given the information I posted in the last thread, will Nola at least acknowledge that Duncan plays center and power forward basically equally? IS HE AN INTELLIGENT MAN?!?!?

I got the top 20 lineups (as far as minutes played) for each Spurs team from BB-ref, took all the ones Duncan was in, and sorted them based on whether he was the PF or C in the lineup. I then added the totals from both sides and got the %.

It's exactly what I encourage, so if being a dick makes people be more factual in their arguments then I have no problem with that.

I'm gonna take a look at that CC, interesting none the less. Good job.
