Vent about your team in this thread.

As for me, I'm really starting to hate the Houston Rockets organization top to bottom. Over the years, the Alexander family have been good owners, but an unwillingness to recognize the utter shittiness of Daryl Morey has me concerned. Morey is renowned in league circles, but the fact of the matter is that he has nothing to show for it on his resume. Yes, he likes to wheel and deal, but at the end of the day, he's flinging shit at a canvas more than he's constructing a team. Not only that, but he's made some terrible decisions in years past. Letting Lowry and Dragic go in the same offseason comes to mind, immediately. You need a good PG in today's NBA, and Patrick Beverly just isn't the kind of scorer needed at the position. Then you factor in Morey/Alexander's coaching decisions. Houston has had a glaring need at head coach since the Rick Adelman days, and the names that follow are embarrassing. Kevin McHale is great practice and developmental coach, but in-game he really struggles. JB Bickerstaff is too young and showed no inclination for figuring out rotations, relegating good players like Terrence Jones and Donatas Motiejunas to benchwarmer roles. Mike D'Antoni? Don't even get me started. The biggest problem in Houston right now, a problem nobody seems willing to recognize, is James Harden. Harden refuses to play on both ends of the floor, and his game is inefficient by nature. When a player takes one difficult shot after another, his percentages are not going to be high, and possessions are going to be wasted. In order for Houston to take the next step as a team, they need a coach who is going to hold Harden accountable for his glaring shortcomings, install an offense that moves the ball as opposes to dribbling out the shot clock and taking one contested, bad shot after another, and most importantly, force Harden to put forth an effort on defense. In this league you cannot fall asleep on one end of the floor, but Harden does so game after game.

And then we have this FA period so far. Houston's problem is defense, and they already hired a horrible defensive HC. Who do they sign? Two more of the worst defenders in the league.

This team refuses to help its superstar maximize his talents and potential by putting a coach in place who will hold him accountable. This team continues to allow Daryl Morey to fling shit at a canvas with his roster decisions. This team will continue to flounder around the bottom 3 spots in the playoffs for years to come, and that's just not worth it as a fan. I hate this franchise as it currently is.

Just be a Timberwolves fan, it's obvious where this is headed.

The transition to Vikings fanhood was more of a realization than a conscious decision, and it happened because I listen to their games on the radio in the tractor/combine/truck every year during harvest and watch them after harvest (because fuck paying for Sunday ticket when I'd only get to watch the last 6-8 games of the season). No such transition has occurred with the Wolves while I've been paying more attention to them. I've been a Rockets fan for years and that won't change, but I highly doubt I'll continue to care about how they do over the next 2-4 years because there is honestly no point. Their decisions over the past few months have been concessions to mediocrity.

Gotta hop on the Wolves before they get good, though.  You only have another year or two before you're a bandwagoner.

I support the Wolves and will be trying to attend 1-2 games a year when I make trips to Minneapolis/St. Paul, but they will not become my primary team.

My thoughts on Daryl Morey as an outsider is he has the approach of just trying to acquire as much talent as possible and let his coach figure out the fit. With mixed results, I think if chemistry hadn't bombed last year they actually could have been solid. I'm not so sure about next year's team based on their offseason so far.

If this thread had existed 7-8 years ago I would've absolutely gone tf off on the Pistons, Dumars went from top GM to terrible one when owner Bill Davidson died, no longer had his sounding board. But one way or another (initially, like ecstatically jumping and yelling after picking Drummond, or after seeing it come to fruition, like the KCP pick) I've been on board with just about every decision made by the SVG organization. The frustrating part for me right now is seeing them have to settle for the 3rd/4th tiers of free agents because nobody wants to come play for Detroit. At best Jon Leuer is the bench stretch 4/occasional backup C for 2 years until Ellenson is ready... so why did he get 4 years of more than $10M a year?

Doc Rivers keeping his team completely in tact is stupid
Doc giving Austin 36 mil is robbing ballmer.

Ballmer is a dumbass for not seeing it

And wesley johnson is their starting sf

This franchise is a variation of Nets west

Id rather have etuan, ish and agustin
And all signed for less

Id rather have arron for 2/25 than wes and austin. Super replaceable guys not worth long term deals. Idk what doc is doing

Yeah I was just telling my brother, why aren't the Clippers making any changes? That team is the definition of stagnant.

Ellenson is a complete unknown. At least you know what you are gonna get with Leuer. I don't mind the length at all.

Stagnant implies they aren't trying to improve the team. They did try, they just didn't succeed. Now their fallback plan has kind of sucked. I'll give you that. But I think there's a legitimate belief in the organization that they had a good shot this year before those playoff injuries. With the way the Warriors played in the playoffs, it's not unthinkable that the Clippers could've beaten them. Unlikely, sure.

Yeah and if it was for two years I'd have loved the deal. But Leuer is only still worth that money for the 3rd and 4th years if Ellenson is a bust (and Leuer plays well), wouldn't you rather sign a 2-year deal and then make the decision on the need for another one then?

What kinda true fan are you if youre going to be paying no attention to your team for the next 2-4 years just bc theyre not winning championships. Lmao you a fool dude, you aint no true rockets fan and if you live in Houston, thats a damn shame too.

The bad times is what makes the good times even sweeter.

And matter of fact, the rockets are still going to be competitive and going to be making the playoffs so i dont get why you tweaking..
