I always like to keep an eye on the young kids in NHL every year. Hence, this thread.

This year we have a ton of interesting younglings that are playing their first NHL games, and a few players that only played a few games last season.

Will post my own personal favorites in the coming hours, and days. Hope you guys will enjoy!

Ivan Provorov (PHI)

Height: 1.83 m / Weight: 91 kg

Born: January 13, 1997 (age 19)
Yaroslavl, Russia

7th overall pick in the 2015 NHL Entry Draft.

Praised prospect which exudes all the qualities of the ideal modern defenseman. Oodles of potential
73 points (21 goals/52 assists) +64 in 62 WHL games. (Topping the charts for all WHL defensemen.)
WHL and CHL Defenseman of the Year award, a WJC Silver Medal and WHL Championship last season.

Likely role with the No. 2 power-play unit.
The idea of Provorov and Shayne Gostisbehere together in the near future is very interesting!

8th overall pick in the 2015 NHL Entry Draft.

Skating on the top defensive pair with Seth Jones and the Blue Jackets' top power play unit.
Huge level of trust (and responsibility) in this 19 year old kid from John Tortorella.
Picked up a goal and two assists in four pre-season games.

First game results
Fired a team-high five shots on net while making his NHL debut.

Assisted on Alexander Wennberg's game opening goal.
