Nate Burleson Injury: Updates on Browns WR's Broken Arm and Recovery
=
Good things never seem to last for the Cleveland Browns.
Merely one day after an excitement not seen in years was infused into the franchise because of a strong Day 1 of the 2014 NFL draft, the wide receiving corps took a serious hit. Pro Football Talk and Chris Mortensen of ESPN filled fans in on an injury update regarding Nate Burleson:
This comes on the heels of the earlier news Friday that star wide receiver Josh Gordon may have to sit out an entire year, per SportsCenter:
Burleson played in nine games for the Detroit Lions during the 2013 season and tallied 461 receiving yards and one touchdown. He missed significant time with a broken arm last year, so this is certainly not welcome news for the Browns.
Considering that the recent injury revelation came during the NFL draft, look for the Browns to at least entertain the notion of selecting another wide receiver in the later rounds. Burleson would ideally be back before the season begins, but his recent injury history is troublesome.
Stay tuned for updates as they develop.
