LaDainian Tomlinson reiterated Wednesday that he's "optimistic" he'll work out a restructured deal with the Chargers and doesn't intend to retire before breaking Emmitt Smith's all-time rushing record.
"My heart wants to stay in San Diego," LT said. "But again, I'm realistic about certain things, and I understand it is a business." Tomlinson, 30 in June, is 6,595 rushing yards short of Emmitt. It's highly doubtful he'll ever get there.
