In 2005, Nick Saban traded Patrick Surtain to the Chiefs for a draft pick.

In 2018, NIck Saban recruited the top defensive back in the nation, Patrick Surtain Jr.

I find any and all talk suggesting Saban’s dynasty is over, because he didn’t lock up the top class, to be extremely amusing. The guy’s teams thrive off that kind of talk. He literally went all the way to halftime of the NCG with the wrong damn QB and then won with a True Fresh back up. Both QBs coming back to T-Town this season. Pretty damn scary for the SEC.

They recruited the top CB and the top DE in the country. They are getting blasted for not drafting a QB, but they didn't really have to this year with Tua and Hurts still with plenty of eligibility. They got a 4-star WR from the Houston Area, Jaylen Waddle, who has blazing speed. He could factor in immediately and cause defenses lots of problems. Saban continually takes guys who are 3/4 star players and builds them up to a 5-star level of talent.

People are marginalizing Alabama because of what they lost in addition to their slide from #1 to #6. They lost both coordinators and a lot of their secondary unit. Those moves will hurt us a little and cause a lot of reasons to speculate if they can repeat.I dont think he has ever lost both coordinators in the same off-season. Still, they promoted from within and so there will be some consistency

OU had a very nice weekend. Landed 2 5* WRs to go along with the #1 DTQB and #3 TE. Still possible we land the #3 RB as well.
