id rather see us try to trade up for valentine if its that close. furkan is intriguing but idk how ready he'll be and id rather a player come in who is a little more ready.. or just deal the pick. its time for this team to start adding leaders and role players.

Why would NO draft Dunn when Hield seems like a perfect fit and they have Jrue? You know more about the team's situation than I do.

No Poeltl is surprising

Gentry likes playing two PG's, what each can do offensively is appealing but what they could be defensively is even more. Jrue plays more SG under Gentry than PG anyway. The thing this team really lacks is perimeter defense and athleticism, so I think Dunn would be a very good pick.

It's not because I don't like Poeltl, I do, but with where the league is going I wouldn't be surprised if centers became less of an asset.

I get that, but it's not like Dunn is some can't miss point guard. Plus he can't shoot. I'm not low on Dunn but I don't think he's as good as some people think. Huge gambler on defense, he's always in foul trouble. I don't think he's that good at making his teammates better. I think they'd be much better off taking Buddy.

Buddy scares me a little honestly. I love him in college and definitely think he can be a very good NBA player, but I could also see him ending up being one of those guys who is nothing more than a shooter who is barely playable because of how bad he is defensively.

I think the work ethic is there. Look at how much his ball handling improved this season for an example of that. He has the physical tools to be a good defender. I wouldn't even say he's bad now to be honest. I feel way more confident about him becoming a plus defender than I do about Dunn becoming a plus shooter.

The thing you need to understand about the filler game (not speaking to you directly, but I'm not sure if you watch a lot either) is that indispensable players on top teams like a Buddy Hield will not bring a full defensive intensity for most of the night because their teams cannot afford them to get in foul trouble. Oklahoma doesn't really have much of a bench. They need him out on the floor, and if it means conceding a basket or two early in the game, so be it. It's not like the NBA where most teams have a capable backup at almost every position who can get the team by for a while. There's examples of teams in college with depth (see Brice Johnson at UNC) where the player has a lot more room to maneuver on defense by his coach because he has someone behind him who can pick up the slack.

I've also soured on Murray a little bit from a month ago. He can score the heck out of the ball, but his size worries me. I don't think he'll ever be a point guard. I think he could end up as a really good tweener guard i.e. Jamal Crawford

I think there's something to be said for these four year guys that come out and you hear "oh they're 22 they can't get better." That's been a dumb argument from the start, but the proof is in that backcourt that Portland put together.

With Buddy, there is clearly a skillset there. I don't know, I can't really explain why I'm slightly worried about him. Hell I can just as easily say I would be thrilled if he was the Pels selection so maybe I just don't know what to actually think about him. Defensively I feel like he will be a train wreck in the league, but his offensive skill set should translate and would definitely be a good fit next to Davis and Holiday.

I'm curious why you're so low on him defensively? The physical tools are there

I can't imagine Dunn and Tyreke playing well, either
