Are you really that convinced Boston takes Brown, or is that just what you want?

Its beating a dead horse but I just don't see Boston taking Brown. He doesn't fit their criteria, and honestly he's an overrated prospect to begin with. And I like the Valentine fit in Utah.

Doesn't fit the criteria? Our last two first round picks (Smart and Rozier -- not counting Hunter who at 28 is an early 2nd rounder basically) were defensive players with long wing spans that were high energy guys that had undeveloped jump shots

If anything Jaylen fits the criteria better than anybody else in the draft. He might not fill out the team's deepest weakness, but he definitely fits the team. And I think he's underrated, and question how he can be considered overrated when he has the most attainable floor out of Hield, Murray, and Bender (Dunn has the better floor).

I don't think he has the most attainable floor at all. Guys like Dunn and Hield already have an NBA level skill from day 1. Brown is a project and is not ready to contribute in the NBA. What's his biggest strengths? The fact that he has good size and strength? That's great. You know Hield will always have his shooting, you know Dunn will always have his defense, penetrating, and distributing abilities. What is Brown going to hang his hat on? He is 100% "well he COULD do this."

Let me list a few things he can't do:
1. You can't ISO him
2. You can't have him run the PnR
3. His shooting is so bad whether it's he's spotting up or pulling up off the dribble, making him a non threat outside the paint
4. Very predictable going to the rim, doesn't change speeds and has a loose handle which leads to many turnovers
5. Struggled finishing at the rim, will be 100x tougher in the NBA. Shot 45% at the rim overall and the one thing he is good at getting into transition, so imagine what his percentage is at the rim in half court.
6. Not a distributor, has tunnel vision and routinely misses open teammates
7. Already talked about his turnovers

We already talked in depth about how he's a poor defender a few weeks back. I mean I get it, I get why he's intriguing. But I don't agree with it. He's got upside, but guys who are all upside and no substance rarely pan out. I get why he's intriguing but I don't understand why you are so in love with him. If you want to swing for the fences do it with a guy like Chriss or Bender. I'd be absolutely disgusted if my team wasted the 6th pick on him with all the good players that will be available, much less the 3rd pick. Now if you could trade back and acquire a pick outside the top 7, say 8-10, by all means go for it.

I don't get the point of them drafting Brown given they're trying to win now, they aren't going to wait for him to develop. It's clear Ainge thinks he has it in him to land a marquee FA or two. Plus you mentioning Smart and Rozier as evidence of them taking Brown, but why wouldn't it be evidence the other way given those players are both still on the roster?

I really think if they keep the pick they're gonna take Buddy. No insider information or anything researched, I just think he's clearly the guy that fills a hole on their team and is ready to contribute right away
