I honestly have no clue what to do with this.  There's zero tangible proof that those were the picks, or that any picks were even associated with this trade at any time so it's hard to force something like this through based on nothing

@RunSoHard  I need you to weigh in on this mess.  Former GMs of both the Pistons and Spurs agreed to a trade involving future picks, but they didn't write down which picks or even that there were picks involved when they posted the trade.  They just trusted each other.  Fast forward to present day, the new GM of the Pistons is trying to get the new GM of the Spurs to honor the deal that was put in place by the former GMs of each team.  Both former GMs agree that the deal was agreed upon as stated, but the new GM of the Spurs doesn't want to honor the deal.

Your thoughts?

Easiest thing to do with it being a gentlesmans agreement and its not affecting either one of these guys really since it was before them. That since it wasn't written down. Either he gets to pick one of the picks. Or the trade is void since both GMs are gone.

I love Beats and R2 just saying.

This is why I don't allow future picks being traded. If RD doesn't want to honor it, honestly, he doesn't have to because it's a gentlemen's agreement between the former GMs.

The fact is, future picks aren't really allowed to be traded, just an agreement.

even if they were "officially" allowed to be traded, the actual picks associated with this trade were never documented anywhere.  There's no log of them being a part of this trade at any point.

Record 605-297 .671 win % we are not a member of the book club meeting because we are usually in the later rounds of playoffs
Playoff history 77-49 9 times out of 11 (curry say something and we fight) 2 championships .

going to leave this up for a while so people can read the discussion that took place, but yeah unless rd accepts this then there's nothing to be done in the way of forcing it through.

Damn that sucks. Fuck it let him get at least one of the picks or agree on new picks (it would still be future considerations), or void the whole thing. Lil cheesy that it's up to Rd since the trade was sort of grandfathered in before he got there. Basically they already agreed, it should go through so its already in place, but of course with a new gm from that point on after the already accepted trade is your decision and up to your discretion..

Sure you can. Shit was already accepted, he just gotta deal with it. Stuff was already in place before he got there. In the right sense he would only be able to change anything after he takes over the position.
