Jason Kidd has agreed to sign with the Knicks on a three-year, $9 million deal, according to sources.

Kidd will presumably backup Jeremy Lin if he is ultimately retained as expected.

The Mavericks were confident they were moving toward a deal with Kidd.

At least 2 teams offered a washed up Jason Kidd a 3 year deal.

Why

The guy is a fossil. What good does it do to sign him unless he's going to make Carmelo and Amar'e pass the ball?

yea but felton had a real bad season and it was probably actually a normal type of season for him. i would have rather had felton/lin for the long run though. if they do keep lin then kidd could actually help him a lot

lin is better than kidd at this point in their careers. lin wasnt as good as that run was but hes still a real solid starting point guard and is going to get a little bit better.

Felton's success in NY was also a product of D'Antoni's system. When he left NY he sucked again.

Felton wouldn't work with the ball-stopping Melo in Mike Woodson's iso-heavy offense.

doesn't help that Woodson's offense was being run by Davis and Bibby on crutches.

I don't mind it if we re-sign Lin and Kidd serves to mentor him.

My only problem is that we refuse to blow the team up. If Joe Johnson could be traded, Melo can.

they're not trading Melo. Amar'e maybe, but not Melo.
