Cal's resident ankle-breaker Jahvid Best and fellow Bears' running back Shane Vereen, are clamoring to the coaching staff to add more plays for them out of the wildcat formation, reports Ron Kroichick of the San Francisco Chronicle.
The formation bombed against USC (but then again, so did Cal's whole team), but after running wildcat plays with lots of success against Washington State Saturday, the coaches might decide to listen more to the duo. Vereen says he wants to be given the option to throw the ball, and Best has some option-play tricks up his sleeve.
Given that they don't have much without their running game, why doesn't Coach Jeff Tedford give it a shot?
