Chipper Jones is not happy. The 37-year-old Atlanta Braves third baseman has a .268 batting average this season, has scored 70 runs, and popped 16 dingers so far. But he's apparently already thinking about next year -- specifically, the end of next year.

According to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Jones is thinking that he may retire after next season if it ends up being disappointing to him as well. That would mean not playing the final year of a three-year, $42 million extension he signed this year or take the chance of the option for the fourth year to be vested that would bring the value up to $61 million.

It would be tough for the Braves to lose a guy the Sporting News named one of the 50 best current players earlier this year and a man who has been with the team his entire career since 1993. But it seems pretty doubtful that he'll make it to the end of that three-year deal at this point.

Very nice career by Larry if he does decide to hang em up. A sure HOF'er and the player I can see David Wright developing the most into. Man did Chipper kill us every year. Those days are unfortunately over....

As Chipper has gotten older he has began to talk a lot of <Censored>. Like how David Wright didnt deserve the GG award one year and how the Mets-Phillies war of words was stupid because the Braves never did that. And stupid <Censored> like that. He should ask for a trade to an AL team like the Tigers and make a playoff run.

Can't top that <__<

Nevertheless, I've been to three Braves' games in my life, one in Atlanta, one in Tampa, and recently at Wide World of Sports.

I love Chipper Jones and always have...
