Last night, I was able to sit in Section 220, Row 13, Seat 11; and watch the Yankees and the Jays play. I was pretty exited because this would be my first outting all year, and there's only 4 days 'till school starts... So I was looking to have some fun.
See, to anyone that knows exactly where that is, they'd know that the seats aren't bad, but the overhang of the Luxury Boxes are over the seats.
Next, before the game, I was looking to purchase a Yankees Bullpen Jacket Click to view and as you can see on the site, they were $119.99. I went to the concession stand, and asked to try it on, to make sure it was nice, and that it fitted me properly. Sure enough, it was perfect. I pulled out my money to pay for it. "That'll be 195.48." she said to me. "What the hell? If it's $119.99, it should be $137 and change." I responded. "Sir, the jacket is 169.99."
Well, that being said, I wasn't going to spend nearly $200 on a <Censored>ing bullpen jacket. Not a chance in hell. I then went to the main Jays shop, I believe it's in Section 112. I walked in looking to buy a Yankees jersey now. Throughout the 100 square foot store, I think about 3 square feet had Yankees apparel. 4 jerseys, a handfull of hats, and a "batting helmet" that looked like it went through hell.
So, now the game. Anyone watch it last night? Top 6, 1 away, Melkey on first, Jeter at the plate. He hits a floated down the line, probably 10 yards left of the pitcher's mound. Jeter looks like he beats out the throw, infact, replay shows he did, and they call him out.
Now, not to blame the umps, (awaits shot from Gtown, ROCKSTAR, ect.) but it's not brain surgery. The runner gets the tie, in this case, it wasn't even a tie, but what the hell, why not blow it aswell.

Anyways, the Yankees won, I got a jersey, who gives a rats ass. However, if I was from New York, and wanted to come see a game, here's a few changes that I'd want to see.

  1. [*]
    More Yankees Apparel.

    [*]
Better view of the game. Perhaps take out the luxury boxes, and make them regular seats, so that everyone can see the sky when the dome is open.

    [*]
Cheaper concession stand prices. Who the hell would spend $200 on a bullpen jacket?

I don't think it would be any cheaper if you went to Yankee Stadium. And it's a Blue Jays stadium, I don't think they need to have the other teams' apparel. I don't think I would ever spend that much for a jacket to have writing on it that says Yankees though lol.

They are pretty nice though. Nice fleece lining, that can be zipped out.

Oh yeah, things are more expensive in Canada usually. That's why people go to the States to buy clothes sometimes.

Yeah, that's why Canada sucks.

Other than that, Canada> All.

Its called "venue pricing". Super inflated but people still spend the money.

I bought a custom Jays jersey at Rogers Center and they charged me only 120$ when normally it would be 200-300$. I don't know why it was like that but it was. But in your case, it's just because every thing is more expensive when you go to a sports stadium. It's like that at the Air Canada Center aswell.

And when I was at Yankee Stadium this year I didn't see that much of a difference in prices.

why the <Censored> would we stock yankees stuff when yankeess stadium probably doesnt have any jays stuff. and quit complaining about the umps it happens to everyone, and they are not stadium specific.

the best part was when you said more "YANKEES" apparel at the "JAYS SHOP"

Rogers Centre is nice, but you dont go to a stadium to buy apparel. You buy it at a local shopping mall or online. I got a Reyes jersey that was $40 less because I bought it online.

Like FPS said dont go there for a shopping spree, go there to enjoy the game. If you want a jersey the eaton centre is a five minute walk and there are many shops outside of the mall that have great prices

You're lucky that there was any kind of Yankee apparel at an opposing teams stadium...

the Blue Jays sell other team's merchandise only because they know there are so many god damn bandwagoners in Toronto that they could make a fortune

I have been to the Rogers Centre with the Yanks in town on plenty of occasions....and its more like a Yankee home game. All Yankee fans from upstate NY migrate North when the Yanks are in town.

I am one of 'em.
