Along with Cliff Lee from the Philadelphia Phillies, Matt Holliday has proven to be the best mid-season pickup of any team. The St. Louis Cardinals have had the best record in baseball (20-8) since grabbing him from the Oakland Athletics.

And Albert Pujols is pretty happy about having him batting behind him, too: "He's really given us a boost. We were a pretty good lineup. Now we're really good," he told CBS Sports.
But Holliday apparently isn't planning on staying in St. Louis when he becomes a free agent this winter, according to CBS Sports. Even though he's hitting in the .390s since arriving and close to .475 at Busch Stadium, he's not making any predictions for the winter. "I like it here," he says. "It's got a lot of the things I'm interested in."

But with the season Holliday is now having, you can be sure his agent isn't allowing him to show any preference for any city or team. Holliday will cash in this winter, though lobbying by teammates to keep him in St. Louis has already started.

I say he goes to the Yankees or Red Sox, lol. I know its a bit of a stretch seeing him on one of those teams, lol.

YAY! Hopefully this means he's going back to Colorado or the Jays might throw a boat load of cash at him.

I would like Sawx to get him and throw him into RF, I just wish we could find a team that would take Drew's contract, even though no one will. But I'd rather them get Mauer, and go with this:

1. Ellsbury CF
2. Pedroia 2B
3. Mauer C
4. Youkilis 3B
5. Martinez 1B
6. Bay LF
7. Ortiz DH
8. Drew RF
9. ?????? SS?

Although, I think we should go out and find a guy who can play Second and move Pedroia to SS if that improves the team.

There is NO WAY Holliday goes back to Colorado. He is looking for the big bucks, he knows it, the Rockies know it, and the Cardinals know it. Everybody knows it, lmao.

I'm a bit on the fence. I'd like to not throw money at a free agent but the thought of Holliday smashing balls off the Green Monster is VERY appealing.

I do like Bay though

That's just too unfair if the Yankees end up with him.

The Yankees want him and to re-sign Damon lol. I'd love to see Detroit go for him.

I will have to become a Tiger fan if they get him. They'll have too many of my favourite players.

I'd rather we get Joe Mauer, and look for other OF to put in RF. I'd also love for us to get Miguel Tejada if we can and Astros don't resign him. I mean there's Nady, Matsui and Abreu available, I think they are all better than Drew.

He's going to the Yankees for sure, as well as the lefty from Cuba who reaches over 100 MPH.

He's actually having a very good season. Not hitting a ton of homers but his average with runners in scoring position is extremely good, driving in a ton of runs.
