Having Vanek back should help the powerplay and the offense in general but the defense is quite bad. DeKeyser is like one of the worst D-Men in the league according to advanced stats. That contract is starting to look very bad.

Auston Matthews is incredible

Bummed the Blue Jackets streak ended, but at the same time that team doesn't deserve to hold that record

Tampa and Nashville need to wake up

Blackhawks looking like the team to beat yet again

It started last season but this year I'm officially watching more Wild games than NBA games. I also try to catch Ducks games because I'm a big fan of Ryan Kesler. When they're on I'll also watch Edmonton because of McDavid and pretty much any other team with a great young (or old) player. I'm glad I now have an appreciation for hockey because it's not nearly as affected by officiating and seems a purer game, imo.

People like to go on about how big of a disgrace NHL ref'ing is. It's really like any sport, people are humans and make mistakes.

You'll still get people wearing tin foil hats

The primary rules that get whistled every game (icing, offsides, etc.) are very very clear and when these infractions occur it is very, very obvious. Worse penalties that result in power plays I rarely see anything to object to. Reffing affects hockey so little on average compared to football, basketball, and baseball. It's beautiful.

Would it be fair to call trading for Devan Dubnyk the best move in Wild history so far?
